Couch Indians Basketball Team Wins 88-64 Over Koshkonong Blue Jays

Couch, Mo. – On February 20, 2024, the Couch Indians boys basketball team took on the Koshkonong Blue Jays in the Class 1 District 3 Quarterfinals at the Couch High School. The Couch Indians got the win 88-64.

A Close Game

During most of the game, the two teams were neck and neck, always within a couple of points from each other. Several three-pointers were made in the first half including one from Dylan Larsen (#3 for Indians) and Caleb Carney (#1 for Blue Jays). The score at halftime was 38-37, with Couch in the lead. The game continued to be close in the third quarter. Couch was making several points with alley-oops, with Jobe Sturgeon (#25 for Indians) actually making the points.

Couch Leads

Nearing around three minutes in the third quarter, Couch started to pick it up and lengthen the lead. At the end of the quarter, Couch was ahead 66-50. Both teams had several good steals, although they didn’t always end up as points. With about three minutes in the game, Hunter Labbee (#35 for Blue Jays) made two three-pointers. Riley Villavicencio (#30 for Blue Jays) also made a three-pointer for his team. The final score was 88-64, with Couch taking the win.

Couch’s next opponent will be the Eminence Redwings on February 22, 2024, in Bradleyville, Missouri. [1] This will be the district semifinals.
