Winter Storm Warning In Effect Until Saturday Night

Southcentral and southwest Missouri are expected to get mixed participation, rain, snow, and ice, until late Saturday evening.

A Wintery Mix

Alton Missouri is expected to experience a wintery mix of weather today through tomorrow. According to NOAA weather, total accumulation of 3-6 inches is expected. Localized amounts may approach 6 inches in the higher terrain in Douglas County. Sleet accumulations up to a quarter inch are also expected along with up to a tenth of an inch of ice.

Today Alton, Missouri will get snow showers and sleet before 3pm, then snow showers between 3pm and 5pm, then snow showers, possibly mixed with sleet after 5pm. High near 32. Wind chill values as low as 24. East wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of around an inch possible. [1]

Weather services report that south-central Missouri will be experiencing the most snow and ice although southwest Missouri will likely get a significant amount of rain.
