Update (10-16-25): Due to the forecasted storms for Saturday, the turkey shoot has been moved to Sunday, the 19th, at noon.
The Rover Volunteer Fire Department is having its annual turkey shoot. This year, it will be on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
Time and Location
The target shooting will begin at 10:00 am and the trap shooting will begin at noon. This event will be on Saturday, October 18th at the Rover Gun Club.
Target Shooting
Target shooting will be between 10:00 am and noon. There will be 22’s, splatter board, handgun, and high power rifle. [1] No high power rifle larger than 30 cal will be allowed. For each event, there will be a $3 entry fee, as well as cash payback.
Trap Shooting
Trap shooting will begin at noon with trap and buddy trap and it will finish out with Annie Oakley. Shooting will take place at both trap fields. The entry fee for the trap shooting events is also $3.
Concession
Concessions will be available for the shooters and onlookers. Some of the items include hot dogs, brats, chili, soda, coffee, and snacks.
Raffle and Door Prizes
A raffle for a Savage semi-automatic stainless steel rifle will be held at the event. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. For every entry you pay for in the events, you receive a ticket for door prizes. You must be present to win a door prize.
