High school football teams have officially entered the playoffs. The Thayer High School football team is the number one seed in Class 1. Here is a look at the teams in Class 1 District 3.
Thayer and Marionville
For almost the entire season, Thayer (8-1) has kept the top seed and Marionville (8-1) has kept the number two seed. [1] Thayer has averaged 48.9 points per game, and has only allowed 14.2 points per game. Marionville’s offense follows closely averaging 40.4 points per game, and only allowing 11.6 points per game.
Ash Grove and Pierce City
Ash Grove (6-2) and Pierce City (3-6) are ranked 4 and 5, respectively, in District 3. These teams will face each other in the district quarterfinals on October 31st. [2] Ash Grove’s two losses came from Miller and Marionville. Pierce City has had a tough season only winning three out of their nine games.
Miller and Cabool
The last two teams in the District 3 playoffs are Miller (5-4) and Cabool (1-8). Miller has averaged 29.3 points per game while allowing 23.6 points. Cabool, on the other hand, has scored 6.8 points and allowed 50.9 points. The winner of this match-up will face off against Marionville on November 7th.
