Fish dinner

Alton, Mo. – On Saturday, April 24, 2026, the BB Road Volunteer Fire Department held their annual fish fry.  It was a success! Outside, parked vehicles surrounded the fire station with little room to spare. Inside, food was abundant and dished out as quickly as hungry patrons entered.

Meal

As this event centered on a meal, it was fried catfish with sides of hushpuppies (with or without jalapeños), coleslaw, beans, and a multitude of desserts. An ample supply of cold drinks was available.

Location

Although the BB Road Fire Department is not on a main street, it drew a crowd. Locals drove from Alton and the surrounding areas to go down the dirt road for this local favorite. Vehicles surrounded the building driveway and even parked along the road.

Showing

Candidate for circuit clerk Crystal Howell was present and encouraged everyone to vote for her.

Extras

The fire department was having an auction for a couple of small fire trucks. And they were selling raffle tickets for a rifle. All proceeds go to the volunteer fire department.

It was an organized meal that made one want to linger and talk with friends over.
