Let’s Get Together, Missouri! Join America’s Potluck!

Potluck

Alton, Mo. – we are making history in Oregon County, Missouri! On July 5, neighborhoods nationwide will gather for America’s Potluck—and Alton is currently hosting the only official potluck scheduled in all of Missouri. It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our town, enjoy some fantastic food, and connect with folks right here in Oregon County.

Unity

In a time when it is incredibly easy to feel divided or isolated from one another, this nonpartisan initiative is designed to bring us back to the table. The reality is that community connection matters for our health. Research shows that knowing just six of your neighbors significantly reduces loneliness and is linked to lower rates of depression, social anxiety, and even financial concerns.

Studies from The Big Lunch and Community Plate prove that sharing a meal is a powerful, grounding tool for bridging differences. In fact, 80% of potluck attendees report feeling:

  • Less lonely

  • More deeply connected to their community

  • More willing to participate in future local activities

This is not for a certain church. Everyone is invited.
