Alton, Mo. – Thursday evening rural water patrons began having low water pressure. Thinking it would pass, it was basically ignored by most. However, by Friday morning, residents of OCWD#1 (Oregon County Water District #1) woke to barely, if any water. This means problems. AltonMo.com is trying to address the issue.

What Is Wrong?

Essentially, the problem lies with faulty circuit breakers. The maintenance persons are working diligently to resolve the problem.

Any Timeline?

As of Friday, they had no timeline as to when patrons can expect water service again.

Friday evening, water had trickled through some lines. However, the amount was insufficient to do chores like washing dishes, clothes, or oneself.

AltonMo.com wants to remind residents to act responsibly. Turn off your water heater. You do not want to damage your element. Use water resourcefully. Many friends and neighbors who have wells are usually willing to help out. Purchase drinking water locally. Remember that this too shall pass.
