The annual meeting of the Oregon County Extension Council will be on Friday, March 8, 2024, starting at 5:30 pm at the Thayer Elementary School cafeteria.
Who Can Come
Anyone can attend the meeting. One must RSVP by calling 417-778-7490. You can also stop by their office on the first floor of the Oregon County Courthouse in Alton.
Agenda
A dinner will start the meeting off. After that, the Oregon County Extension Council members will be introduced and sworn in. Different awards will also be given out.
Guest Speaker
A guest speaker will also be at the meeting. Max Sanson is a NASA Eclipse Ambassador from the University of Missouri. [1] He will provide information on the upcoming total solar eclipse.
Weather
Another speaker from the National Weather Service from Springfield, Missouri, will speak on weather safety.
4-H
Individuals involved in 4-H will show the projects they have been working on. They will be open to questions as well.
Auction
At the meeting, donated items will be auctioned off as a fundraiser for Extension programming and events.
