In all aspects of homeschooling, HSLDA (HomeSchool Legal Defense Association) provides assistance. At HSLDA, you can find help with everything from homeschooling to legal problems, from community services to legal advice. Homeschoolers know that HSLDA offers contests throughout the year. The contests are open to all school-age children and range from writing to artistic abilities. HSLDA has decided to add to the existing contests. They are adding videos and short stories as categories. The chances of winning have increased. Below is a breakdown of each category.

February 1-April 1

These will be the poetry and video contests.

June 1- August 1

Short stories and photo contests happen here.

October 1 – December 1

This is the essay and art contest.

What Is Happening

Previously, they held contests for art, poetry, photos, and essays, but now they’re adding short stories and videos. As a result, they will offer three contests per year instead of four, each composed of two smaller contests. The contests will still be graded by age group. They will each have varying themes. And participation is still open to all students being homeschooled all across the country. Winners will still receive cash prizes.

All profits from the contests go to HSLDA Compassion which provides low-income homeschooling families with access to educational and legal resources to help them continue homeschooling.
