The Alton, Missouri, Christmas parade is happening Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Alton. Along with the parade itself, there are several other activities going on that community members can join in.
Caroling
At 4:30 pm after the Little Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas pageant, there will be caroling on the square. [1] Friends, families, and individuals can join in on the caroling. If you would like to participate, you can contact Robin Holman at 417-270-1903.
Santa Contest
A Santa look-alike contest is also being held before the parade on Saturday. The categories are most realistic looking, most creative, and best dressed. [2] The judging will be approximately 4:30 pm on the courthouse steps.
Christmas Lights
Although the judging won’t take place until December 20th, the Alton Culture Club is sponsoring the best decorated for Christmas house and business within a five mile radius of Alton. There will be a $100 prize. [3] If you would like to get on the list, you can contact Robin Holman at 417-270-1903.
Crowning
The Little Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas pageant will be on the courthouse steps at 4:00 pm. You can read more by going here.
Vendors
Vendors will be on the square selling various items. They will be set up from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. [4]
Parade and Pictures
The parade will begin at 6:00 pm starting at the school and going around the square. After the parade, individuals and families can take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
