Runners End The Year Right By Participating In The Thayer FCCLA 5K

Thayer, Mo. –The Thayer High School FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) held a “Running into the New Year” 5K on December 30, 2023, in downtown Thayer. Although the morning was chilly, runners still braved the cold and participated in the run.

5K

The first race was the 5K, or 3.1 miles. Nine runners participated in the 5K. The first, second, and third place runners overall were David Thomas, Jacob Eckman, and Logan Kennedy, respectively.

Fun Run

The 1 mile fun run for the kids happened after the 5K. Although there were only two runners, it was a very close race.

Food

Two food trucks were at the run so after the races, the attendees could get some food.

Profits

All the profits from the race will go towards getting the FCCLA group to state convention.
