Meet The New Pastor Of First Baptist Church

Alton, Mo. – The Alton First Baptist Church has a new pastor who is no stranger to Alton. While now living in Alton, Kevin Crum came from Thayer and, before that, Koshkonong. With this history, he knows the Oregon County area and wants to be available for the community.

Short Bio

Kevin Crum, the pastor, lived in West Plains for a number of years. He worked at the Hammond Mill Bible Camp as well as a musician at the Genesis Church. The great flooding of 2017 helped him to move to Koshkonong. From there, he moved to Alton. While co=pastoring a church in Thayer, he felt the needs of Alton. When the opportunity to pastor the First Baptist Church opened up, he submitted his resume and was hired. However, he did not take this opening lightly. He has a group of pastors with whom he is accountable.

Goals

Pastor Crum has goals for the church and impacting the community. First, he is opening the church as an emergency warming station in Oregon County. He has goals for a prison ministry. He wants the community to realize that First Baptist Church is a stable church, here to stay. This church is also family-friendly. With five kids in his household, he wants the church to welcome children and families. This church is unafraid of children and lets them run and touch the beautiful Christmas trees. The church is also looking for worship leaders for the morning service.

Welcome

Pastor Crum did join the Alton ministerial alliance in order to help the community. He lives in Alton, shops in Alton, and attends events in Alton. He knows what the people are going through, and he has a desire to point them to Christ. He invites anyone without a church home to attend their services and worship God.
