The Black Gold Walnut Festival is coming up in just under two months. Sew Blessed Piecemakers have made a new quilt that will be raffled off at the festival. Until October 4th, the quilt will be at different local businesses.
Locations
From August 4-8, 2025, the quilt was at the Alton Florist. From August 11-15, it will be at the Alton Library. From the 18th to the 22nd, it will be at the Community First Bank. The quilt will be at the Southern Bank in Thayer from August 25-29, and at the Alton branch from September 2-5. The Alton Bank will display the quilt from September 22-26. From September 15-20, the quilt will be at Simpson’s True Value. To wrap it up, S&S Fabric will have it from September 29 through October 4th. [1]
Raffle Tickets
Raffle tickets can be bought in advance at Simpson’s True Value, S&S Fabrics, or any club members. Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10.
Proceeds
All the proceeds from the quilt raffle will help fund future Quilts of Valor.
The Quilt
The quilt is blue, yellow, and orange: perfect for fall! It is 85 inches by 98 inches. The quilt was made locally by members of Sew Blessed Piecemakers.
Walnut Festival
The winner of the quilt raffle will be announced at noon on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Black Gold Walnut Festival. The Walnut Festival will take place on the square in Alton, Missouri, between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm.
