Jefferson City hosted Governor Parson’s 2022 State of the State Address on January 19, 2022. In his remarks, he reflected on what had been accomplished in 2021 and the goals he has for 2022.  Parson addressed seven key topics: workforce and education, infrastructure, agriculture, community development, health care, public safety, and legislative priorities. Outright, he proclaimed that,

Missouri is strong and will even be stronger tomorrow [1].

Governor Parson’s recommendations would increase funding in a variety of areas. Additional funding, however, is being provided from federal dollars and historical budget surpluses.

Governor Parson supports the vital personnel in Missouri, such as teachers, healthcare providers, farmers, and law enforcement officers.

Building Missouri

Parson wants to build Missouri. To be more precise, he wants to invest in education. Transport and water systems also require significant investment. A significant expansion of agriculture is also on the agenda.
Due to the pandemic, many individuals have taken to the outdoors. Parson wants to make the most of Missouri’s natural resources. In addition to driving small business growth and job creation, he hopes to expand tourism through nature.
Following all that investing, Governor Parson wants to set aside some money for emergencies.

Although Governor parson spoke briefly on a number of topics discussed in the past, he is looking to the future in rebuilding Missouri. A thorough press release of the State of the State speech can be found here.
