Missouri State Senators Work Hard On Our Priorities

Missouri legislators are in session for a new year. Last week the senators worked on bills to protect small businesses and encourage entrepreneurship. Here is a summary.

SCS SBs 3 & 69

Senator Denny Hoskins and Senator Travis Fitzwater have combined their legislation to promote pro-growth policies in Missouri. SCS SBs 3 & 69 will protect new businesses from cumbersome regulation as well as establish an “Office of Entrepreneurship.” These steps will continue to grow Missouri’s economy and promote entrepreneurial innovation.

SB 161

All Missourians are feeling the ramifications of President Biden’s reckless spending and anti-growth policies. Fuel, utilities, and everyday groceries are becoming more and more out of reach. Missouri Senate Republicans are fighting back with Senator Mary Elizabeth Coleman’s SB 161. This bold new legislation removes sales tax from food items. This is a tax relief that provides ALL MISSOURIANS with a much-needed break.

Other Bills

Meanwhile, committees are releasing bills pertaining to education reform, ending the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) in our schools, and curtailing burdensome regulations and red tape on entrepreneurs.

Senator Tony Luetkemeyer is stepping up to support Missouri’s police. SB 119 is eliminating the Kansas City police department’s “mandatory salary range” allowing for higher pay.

The people have spoken and Missouri’s agricultural land is for MISSOURIANS! The Missouri Senate is preventing any future foreign ownership with Senator Rusty Black’s SB 76. This legislation is eliminating any future sale of Missouri’s greatest resource.
