Oregon County, Missouri, is home to beautiful places, including the Eleven Point River, as well as multiple mills and springs. Boze Mill and Spring is nestled on a dirt road several miles off of Highway 160.

Spring

The spring is nestled among countless trees with a walking path surrounding it. Under the right conditions, the spring gives off a beautiful blue/teal color. Boze Spring produces 12-14 million gallons of water every day. [1]

The Mill

The 1880s turbine and hand-layered rock wall from the Lucas Boze grist mill are the only parts of the mill that are still there. [2] There is a hole in the rock wall that creates a little waterfall with the water from the spring.

Camping

There are several primitive camping sites available with a picnic table, a fireplace, and a lampholder. A vault bathroom is also at Boze Mill. Walking paths wind through Boze Mill, leading campers to the old boat ramp, the campsites, the spring, the turbine, and the parking lot.

How To Access It

Boze Mill can be accessed by river or by road. The spring is just a little over two miles off Highway 160 at Riverton. For floaters, Boze Mill is 2.1 miles upstream from the Riverton access on the Eleven Point River.

Fishing

Boze Mill is also a great place to go fishing. Some common types of fish that are caught are bass, rainbow trout, and panfish. [3]
