There is news in the postage world. US first-class stamp prices are up, again. And England honors Charles Schutz with stamps of the Peanuts gang.

First Class Stamps

Beginning July 13, 2025, the price to mail a first-class envelope rose from 73 cents to 78 cents. These are the Forever stamps. On average, the price rose 7.4%. However, online postage and meter users note that the savings for the Metered letter rate remain the same, with no price increase. Postcards also went up a nickel to 61 cents.

Peanuts Gang

The Royal Mail is celebrating 75 years of the Peanuts gang. Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang are back – this time with an interesting British twist. To mark the 75th anniversary of the beloved Peanuts comic strip, Royal Mail has unveiled its own set of stamps. Expect postboxes, seaside sandcastles, and even Buckingham Palace cameos. The set includes eight beautiful designs featuring Charles M. Schulz’s classical characters, with some heartwarming British details thrown in.

Try seeing Snoopy with a bearskin hat and a phone booth behind. Then there is Luch building a Windsor sandcastle. Brits are known for tea time. Of course, one stamp includes a birthday with tea. You can see all eight stamps here.

First published on 2nd October 1950, “Peanuts” became a global phenomenon. At its height, the strip appeared in over 2,600 newspapers, including the Daily Mail here in the UK
