Overview Of Friday Night’s Events With The Cruise-In And Races

Alton, Mo. –On October 3, 2025, there was a cruise-in, bike races, and run races to kickoff the Walnut Festival happening on October 4th.

Classic Cars

Over twenty cars participated in the classic car cruise-in. There were a couple pickups, a Porsche, a military jeep, a Studebaker, and many other cars. Yellow, blue, dark green, black and white, red, and blue cars were at the cruise-in.

Bike Races

There were three bike races on Friday night. The first one was the length of one side of the courthouse; the second race was the length of two sides of the courthouse; and the final race was one mile.

The winners from each race got cookies from Court Square Cafe, as well as cash for two of the races. Just under twenty kids participated in the bike races.

Run/Walks

The annual Run the Town for the Gold 5K/1 Mile run/walks took place after the bicycle races. Around forty kids and adults ran or walked the 1 mile and 5K. For the 5K, there were more adults than kids participating.

All the runners got Glow Run medals, and winners of the different age groups got medals. All the runners and walkers also got glow necklaces.
