Jason Smith will be running for U.S. representative again in 2020.

Representative Jason Smith is busy casting his ballot on issues to help Missourians. Although he first took the representative office in 2013, he believes he is doing the best for our area and is running for reelection. In proof of that, his votes help the military and reduce the imposition of gas rules.

H.R. 6329

This bill requires federal agencies to rely on the best available scientific, technical, demographic, economic, and statistical information and evidence when developing and issuing federal guidance and rules.  It did pass while Smith voted in favor of it.

S. 2503 Act

This Senate bill, in response to the tragic midair collision at Reagan National Airport, would impose burdensome requirements on the military that do not properly address the NTSB safety recommendations and would harm national security.  Smith voted against it, and it did not pass.

H.R. 4758

This bill repeals Biden Administration policies that were designed to phase out gas appliances, giving homeowners the freedom to choose their own appliances.  As many people in Oregon County use gas appliances, they are relieved at this outcome. Smith voted yes, and it did pass.

H.R. 4626

This bill prohibits the Secretary of Energy from imposing further rules that would drive up the cost of gas appliances. It did pass, and Smith voted in favor.
