You can call Amazon a lot of things, but you have to admit that they’re ahead of the curve, especially when it comes to their shipping department. A few days ago, Amazon released their first-quarter earnings, along with an announcement for plans for one-day shipping for Prime members. If that’s not happening fast enough for you, don’t worry, Amazon also offers an option where they deliver your packages to newer GM and Volvo cars. Today Ford announced that they’re also making cars eligible for the Amazon delivery.

Faster Deliveries

Patience might be a virtue, but it’s hard to be patient after making an online purchase. Online retail stores know that, which is why Amazon is repeatedly rolling out with a faster way for their customers to receive their packages. Last year the retail giant started delivering packages to newer GM and Volvo vehicles, this year Ford is joining the ranks of cars that can accept your delivery for you. [1]

Today Ford announced that select few of their Ford 2017 and newer models have FordPass Connect, their Lincoln 2018 and newer models also are built with Lincoln Connect. Something that Amazon Prime members can access in the Amazon Key app that will allow drivers to unlock their car door after linking your FordPass or Lincoln Way account to Prime.

Limited Availability

Currently, this option is only available in 50 U.S. cities [2] and requires you to park within two blocks of the address that the package was to be delivered to, in a publicly accessible area. Throughout the delivery process, you’ll be receiving notifications on your phone, along with an alert just before your package arrives. If you decide not to have your package delivered to your car at the last minute, you can always block the delivery, and the package will be delivered to its original address.
