The American Postal Workers Union (APWU) said that they do not think the government should mandate vaccines. The ACWU encourages vaccination, but does not mandate it. In contrast to the APWU, Walmart is requiring all store managers and corporate staff to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Biden’s Statement

President Joe Biden said that federal workers will have to say if they’re vaccinated or not, and if they aren’t, will have to social distance themselves.

Every federal government employee will be asked to attest to their vaccination status. Anyone who does not attest or is not vaccinated will be required to mask, no matter where they work, test one or two times a week to see if they’ve acquired Covid, socially distance, and generally will not be allowed to travel for work. No Federal Government Intervention

The American Postal Workers Union said that they encourage their employees to get vaccinated, but they don’t force them to. The ACWU also does not think the federal government should mandate vaccinations.

While the APWU leadership continues to encourage postal workers to voluntarily get vaccinated, it is not the role of the federal government to mandate vaccinations for the employees we represent. [2]

Walmart Requires Vaccine

In contrast to the APWU, Walmart Chief Executive Doug McMillon said that the retailer’s corporate staff as well as its management-level employees must have the COVID-19 vaccine by October 4, 2021. [3]
