Alton, Mo. – The Chamber of Commerce has been diligent in its efforts to improve the local Pocket Park, located on the square between the Alton Public Library and Collin’s Coffee. While big ideas are in the works, they agreed that it would be nice to have it looking presentable before the Independence Day festivities. To get started, they are asking for donations.
Improvements
Right now, the pocket park has gravel. Displayed around the park are picnic tables and bleachers. That is all. The chamber would like to see grass down. It is not opposed to trees and shrubs, too. Further down the line, they want a pathway and perhaps a stage. But now, they need money for dirt and grass.
Donations
The chamber is seeking monetary donations from individuals and businesses. You can specify that it is for grass, dirt, a tree, or a shrub. You can mail a donation to the Alton Area Chamber of Commerce at PO Box 141 in Alton, Missouri. Payments can be made out to the chamber. There is no set amount. You can donate what you want and designate it for the pocket park improvements.
When?
The sooner they get donations, the sooner work can commence on the project.
