Seniors have had a rough time since the pandemic was announced. Notwithstanding, the Alton Senior Center is available to meet the growing needs of the local seniors.
Goodie Bags
Around the Christmas holidays, we often think of cookies, treats, munchies. The Alton Senior Center is working to keep seniors in the holiday spirit with Christmas Goodie Bags. Each bag will hold sweets and treats packed just for seniors. And these are FREE! Seniors need only to stop by the Alton Senior Center on December 10, 2020. Between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., the workers will pass out numerous bags to our seniors.
Dates To Note
The Alton Senior Center is not open to the public at this time. Although the seniors miss getting together to share time and stories, their health is more important at this time. The center knows that in the future, it will reopen. Meanwhile, the center invites seniors over age 60 to stop by and pick up frozen meals for the week.
However, a holiday causes changes in schedules. America has Christmas and New Years’ coming up. From Thursday, December 24 through Friday, January 1, 2021, the Alton Senior Center will be closed. Meal pickup will be unavailable.

The Alton Senior Center is located at 204 Main Street in Alton. This is next to the post office and behind the Alton Burger Palace. Meghan can answer any question regarding these dates at 417-778-7342.
