Veterans Day is Friday, November 11, 2022. This is a time where we honor those who have fought to defend our freedoms, our country, our homes, and our families. Multiple Veterans Day events are happening around Alton, Thayer, and West Plains, Missouri.
Alton Senior Center
The Alton Senior Center is having a Veterans Day lunch on the 11th from 11:00am until noon. There will be chicken hobo packs, Hawaiian rolls, and a Veterans Day patriotic trifle. At the lunch all veterans can eat free.
Alton High School
The Alton High School Future Business Leaders of America is presenting an assembly on Veterans Day to honor all who have served. This will be at the Alton High School Gym on November 11th, at 1:00 pm. [1]
Thayer School
The Thayer school is having an assembly on Friday at 9:00 am. There will be a special guest speaker, Don Koonce, at the assembly. [2] All area veterans are invited to come.
West Plains Parade
The West Plains Veterans Day Parade is also going to happen on Friday, November 11th beginning at 11:00 am. [3]
West Plains School
Last but not least, the West Plains High School will have a Veterans Day celebration. Veterans are invited to come to a special breakfast in the high school cafeteria at 7:30 am, followed by an assembly at 8:30 am in the gym. For more information, you can call 417-256-6150. [4]
