Oregon County citizens haven’t gotten a good rain in a couple of months. Citizens who have lived here for a long time know that when the grass browns up in June is not a good sign. Presiding Oregon County Commissioner David Stubblefield has issued a burn ban that is in place from July 11, 2022, until further notice.

No Rain

The grass has been brown for a while now. People who have gardens have to keep it constantly watered. The temperatures has been in the upper 90s for the past month.

Don’t Burn!

Presiding Commissioner David Stubblefield said that county officials have issued a burn ban. [1] This burn ban will be in effect until further notice. Citizens are asked to not burn outside as the dry grass and occasional wind are perfect conditions to start a wildfire.

County Rulings

Other counties in southern Missouri including Howell County have also issued burn bans. Some counties in northern Arkansas have also instigated a burn ban.
