Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is accepting live Christmas tree donations to help with wildlife throughout the state. [1]
When to Donate
Donations can be brought in throughout the month of January, from January 1, 2026, through January 31, 2026.
Donation Locations
There are five locations you can bring your trees to: MDC’s Central Regional Office in Columbia, Washington’s Park in Jefferson City, Proctor Park in California, Axis Seed in Boonville, and MDC’s Camdenton Service Center in Camdenton.
How to Donate
MDC is only accepting real Christmas trees. All decorations must be off the tree prior to drop-off.
Why Donate?
If you’re wondering why you should donate your tree, the trees help give underwater cover to fish. These trees then become hot-spots for fish of all sizes as well as anglers.
If you can’t donate your Christmas tree but would still like to help the wildlife, you can put your tree in your own pond if you have one or by bird feeders to provide shelter for birds and other animals.
