MDC Twin Pines Reopening With A Bang On April 17

The Missouri Department Of Conservation (MDC) announced the reopening of the Twin Pines Conservation Education Center. Following a four-month seasonal closure, the facility will reopen on April 1. However, the Twin Pines staff are planning a celebration on April 17, Heritage Day.

What Is Heritage Day?

Heritage Day is an annual celebration accenting the history of the Ozarks. It is a time for food, music, games, workshops, and free fish fry. This is available for all ages.

Details Of The Day

The celebration is between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The free fish fry begins at 11:00 a.m. and lasts until they are sold out. Admission to any of these events is free. Presenters will dress in character from the past to help showcase the history of the Ozarks. The Winona High School band will perform. The facility is planning a birding hike, demonstrations, paddle making, basket making, and trapping.

Where Is Twin Pines CEC Located?

Twin Pines is located up the road from Alton, Missouri. Take State Highway 19 north up to Winona and US Highway 60. From there go east1.3 miles. The facility is on the south side of the highway.
