Every year, 38,5% of adults in the US make New Year’s resolutions. New Year’s resolutions are most common among those aged 18-34. Here are some fun facts about resolutions.

Number One Resolution

The number one New Years’ resolution is exercise. Naturally, this comes after the Thanksgiving and Christmas feasting. One begins to think of spring and fitting into one’s clothes. The majority of people who make self-improvement lists include exercise of some kind.

Coinciding with exercise, people want to eat healthier. After the big holidays, one is ready to sit down with vegetables and salads, cutting the carbs back. After this is losing weight as a resolution.

Between eating better and exercising more, everyone should be losing weight. Right? Unfortunately, no. Only 95 of people keep their New Year’s resolutions all year. They say that timing is everything. Winter snows and frigid temperatures make outside activities difficult. Even driving to work takes longer in the snow.
