Not too many events happened in August and not a lot are happening in September of 2022. The main event in August was the primary elections. September does not really have a main event.

August

As previously mentioned, the main event in August was the primaries. The AltonMo.com field team also interviewed the new Alton-RV superintendent, Dr. Julie Williams. AltonMo.com asked her about her goals for this upcoming school year. The BB Road Volunteer Fire Department also had a barbecue pulled pork dinner on the 27th.

September

Thomasville had a Labor Day celebration on September 3rd with duck races, music, and bouncy houses. Also on September 3rd was National Cinema Day. Regal, Cinemark, and AMC theaters had just $3 per movie ticket. A day we should all remember is the 9/11 terrorist attack on the Twin Towers. It was a sad event.

Walnut Festival

On September 30th, the Run the Town for the Gold 5K/1 Mile Walk/Run will happen on Alton’s square. The next day is the Walnut Festival also on the square.  Booth applications need to be sent in by September 20th.
