Liberty Eagles Beat Thayer Bobcats 62-16 In Third Football Game

Mountain View, Mo. – On Friday, September 9, 2022, the Thayer Bobcats went up against the Liberty (Mountain View) Eagles at the Eagles football field. The Eagles won 62-16.

Eagles Run

Just 20 seconds into the game, Lucas Frazier (#15 for Eagles) ran in for a touchdown. They got the extra point. Just a couple minutes after, Gavin Reese (#9 for Eagles) ran into the endzone. The score was 13-0. Three more touchdowns were made by the Eagles in the first quarter: Drew Ripko (#7 for Eagles) got two touchdowns, and Eli Moore (#14 for Eagles) made an interception and ran into the endzone. The score at the end of the first quarter was 34-0.

Lengthen the Lead

Drew Ripko got another touchdown for the Eagles three minutes into the second quarter. Carter Pruett (#5 for Eagles) followed up with another touchdown. Three minutes later, Kal Acklin (#3 for Eagles) ran into the endzone. Tytus Jester (#8 for Eagles) finished out the half with another touchdown. The score at halftime was 62-0.

Bobcats Injury

With two minutes left in the half, Brandon Prince (#5 for Bobcats) went down after being hit. After a little examination, he was taken in the ambulance to the hospital. Later, it was found out that he just had a concussion.

Bobcats Score

The majority of the third quarter was slow with neither team getting any points. With 4:22 left in the quarter, Colt Gonzales (#10 for Bobcats) ran into the endzone for the first Bobcat touchdown. The Bobcats went for the extra two points. The quarterback threw to Kaden Komm (#8 for Bobcats) who caught it and got the extra points. With 1:20 left in the quarter, a Bobcat player got another touchdown for the Bobcats. Kaden Komm caught the two-pointer throw.

4th Quarter

Neither team scored in the fourth quarter. The only interception made by the Bobcats was in the fourth quarter by Dawson Harris (#7 for Bobcats). The final score was 62-16 with the Eagles winning.

Next Game

The Bobcats’ next opponent is the Salem Wildcats on September 16th at 7:00 pm at Louis Bozman Field. That is also their homecoming game. Make sure to get out and cheer them on!
