The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is looking to area bowhunters for local information on wildlife. They are interested in what you see, how many you see, and when you see them. Here is how you can help.

Who Can Participate

This survey is open to all bowhunters in Missouri. As bowhunters tend to sit still for longer periods of time, they can optimize their time outdoors by recording the wildlife seen.

How This Works

The archery deer hunter will record his observations of deer, wild turkeys, furbearers, and other animals. This survey lasts only between September 15 and November 11, 2022. Daily, at the end of your hunt, the hunter submits his observations. This is only the time spent hunting. The MDC wants to know what you see, what time you see it, and how many you see. The MDC uses this information for monitoring the status and trends of the wildlife population.

What Is Needed

In submitting your experiences, the MDC wants your email, date and time of the hunt, hours hunted, the county you hunt in, animals seen, and the number of animals seen while hunting.

Background Of The Survey

The MDC has garnered information from bowhunters since 1983. While formerly all surveys were submitted through the mail, the MDC now has an app or one can use a web browser as well as the paper format.
