Senator Jason Bean of Missouri is busy at work at the Capitol. In the past few weeks, he has sponsored Senate Bill 56, which bans electric device usage while driving.

SB 56

SB 56, which was combined with SB 61, [1] prohibits a number of uses of electronic communication devices while operating motor vehicles.

Last Action

On March 30th, the bill was passed in the Senate and moved on to the House. On April 3rd, the bill had its second read in the House.

Deaths

According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, texting, or doing anything on an electric device, while driving caused 3,522 deaths in 2021. [2]
