Senator Karla Eslinger is our district senator (district 33). She is busy at work in Jefferson City representing us. Here is her Capital report for the week.

Senate Bill 386

The Education Committee took testimony on Senate Bill 386. The purpose of SB 386 is that the State Board of Education has to make a statewide plan for minimum requirements for career and technical education certificates.

Senate Joint Resolution 26

Senate Joint Resolution 26 asks voters to approve a constitutional amendment that requires insurance companies in Missouri to provide coverage for the pre-existing conditions and will allow dependent children to remain on their parent’s policies until the age of 26.

Amendment On SB 120

Senator Eslinger’s proposal to have a veteran’s designation on the front of a Missouri driver’s license was adopted to Senate Bill 120.

Balanced Budget

Also, the House of Representatives and the Senate must pass a balanced budget. Once the budget has been passed by the House and Senate, it will be given to the Governor, Mike Parson. The balanced budget must be done by May 7, 2021.
