The Thayer Bobcats basketball team left yesterday, March 9, 2023, for Springfield, Missouri, for the Final Four games on March 10th and 11th. The team bus got an escort around town and out of town to celebrate them being one of the Final Four.
Sendoff
Despite it being a rainy and cloudy day, the city of Thayer did not disappoint the team. The escort included four police cars and two fire trucks. At the caution light, another police car had stopped traffic so the bus could drive by. Another police car and an ambulance also escorted them out of town.
Final Four
The Bobcats will be facing off against the Lutheran North Crusaders on March 10th at the Great Southern Bank Arena in Springfield. Whoever wins that will face off against the Central (New Madrid County) Eagles for the trophy on March 11th at 2:00 pm.
