The Alton, Missouri, Chamber of Commerce met Thursday evening, August 25, 2022. Although a few items were brought to the discussion, the main subject discussed was the upcoming Walnut Festival on October 1, 2022.
Booth Forms
The Chamber has already received fifteen booth applications. There are three options businesses can choose from: one parking place without electricity, two parking places without electricity, and two parking places with electricity. More information about the forms will be posted in the next week.
5K/1 Mile Info
The Ozark Black Gold Walnut Festival 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk will happen on September 30th starting at 6:30 pm. Walkers and runners of all ages are encouraged to participate. Unlike previous years, a free t-shirt will not be included in the registration. The shirts can be purchased separately.

Contests
They will once again have baking contests, a wood carving contest, and the pumpkin carving contest. They are planning on having ninety pumpkins ready to be carved on the Walnut Festival day.
Next Meeting
The next meeting is Tuesday, September 6th at 5:30 pm at the Community Worship Center (CWC). They will have another meeting right after that on Thursday, September 15th at 5:30 pm at the CWC. At that second meeting, they will decide on whether they will have another meeting right before the Walnut Festival.
