Kelloggs Debuts New Cereal That Is Not Family Friendly

The Kelloggs Company announced the arrival of a new cereal aimed at children, one that celebrates gay pride and encourages a child to choose his own gender [1]. Bright colors decorated with sparkles lure children to the box. Then the message is simple: you can choose your own sex.

Who?

The Kellogg’s Company, located in Battle Creek, Michigan, announced on May 20 that they are promoting a limited edition cereal titled “Together With Pride”. Kellogg’s, in conjunction with LGBTQ, wants families to begin their day thinking about

Boxes are for cereal, not people [2].

What?

The cereal boxes come in bright purple to catch a child’s attention. It has cereal favorites on the cover: Tony the Tiger, Toucan Sam, Snap, Crackle, Pop, and more.Nonetheless, Kellogg’s is taking this from the online only market and distributing it in stores. From the proceeds, Kellogg’s is donating $3.00 per box to GLADD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation [3]). The back of the cereal box encourages kids to choose their own pronoun.

When?

The cereal is set for distribution in major stores from May 1, 2021 through November 30, 2021.

Why?

Kellogg’s is aligning itself with groups that promote gay/lesbian lifestyles along with transgenderism. Although Kellogg’s says they are committed to “equity, diversity, and inclusion” [4]. It aims to to drive a good and just world in support of equality for LGBTQ+ communities.

What Else?

Other items that hold the Kellogg’s brand is Pringles, Eggo, Kashi cereals, Pop tarts, and Morning Star products.
