Cake Walk Participants Earn Funds For Alton Senior Center

Homemade Cake By Dinah for the cake walk

Alton, Mo. – AltonMo.com had a booth at the Black & Gold Walnut Festival this past Saturday. Arriving early, we set up with a television, posters, games, and cakes. With much support from the entire community, we collected $167 for the Alton Senior Center. Here is what happened.

Games

The AltonMo.com staff prepared many games for the kids attending the festival. They set up games with ping pong balls, pumpkins, blindfolds, and clothespins. Prizes were awarded to participants of all ages.

Cake Walk

The highlight of the day did involve adults, though.  Several ladies donated cakes. We take the time now to noticeably thank Holly Hart, Tina Freer (who baked Lots of cakes), Dinah Slaughter, Victoria Smith, J’ne Shelton, Diane Clarey, Amanda Thomas, and Curtis Thomas. Most of the cake walks were full of participants. All of the proceeds, whether gotten from cakes or cupcakes, were donated to the Alton Senior Center. On Monday, October 3, 2022, AltonMo.com staff stopped by the senior center to present the funds. At the end of the day, AltonMo.com collected $167.00.

Thank you to all who made the cake walks and the Walnut Festival a huge success. We look forward to doing it again in the future.
