Senior Center Reopening At Gradual Pace To Protect Elderly

Alton, Mo. –  The Alton Senior Center is now offering weekly hot meals to go. Seniors over 60 are welcome to pick up a frozen meal during the week. Although the local senior centers are closed to the public, the staff is present and the facility is available for help. Those in charge are constantly assessing the situation. As soon as it is deemed safe to do so, they will completely reopen.

Here is the menu for Alton Senior Center alongside the date the meal is offered. April 1: turkey and ham, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, roll, dessert. April 9: meatloaf, baked potato, country blend, texas toast, and cherry crisp. April 15: oven-fried chicken, baby baked potato, California blend veggies, roll, and honey bun cake. April 22: chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes & white gravy, biscuit, meadow blend, and banana pudding. April 29: BBQ pulled pork sandwich, chips, pickle spear, coleslaw, and chocolate cake. Anytime pork or fish is served, there is an alternate option. Please call at least 30 minutes ahead to request the option.

When?

Meals are ready between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Cost

The senior center requests a donation of $3.50 for those 60 years old and over. For those under 60, a $6.00 fee is requested.
