Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains, Missouri, is once again holding its Medical Academy of Science and Health (M*A*S*H) Camp this summer in late July. Students wanting to participate need to register by May 19, 2023.
The Camp
During the camp, the students learn about the different medical fields, including orthopedic surgery, radiology, pulmonology, emergency medicine, rehabilitation services, primary care, nursing, and more. The hospital physicians will also explain what a person needs to get into that field, such as experience, education, and the pros and cons of the specific field.
What They Get
Along with learning about the different aspects of a medical career, the students will also get lunch, snacks, a set of scrubs, and a certificate of completion as part of the camp.
Dates
For students entering seventh and eighth grade in the fall of 2023, their camp will be on Thursday, July 27, 2023. For ninth through twelfth-grade students, their camp will be from Monday, July 24, 2023, through Wednesday, July 26, 2023. [1]
Registration
The registration process is fairly simple. First, print and fill out this form. Next, put the form and $20 into an envelope and address it to Ozarks Healthcare Education Department, ATTN: Kimberly Pottberg, P.O. Box 1100, West Plains, MO 65775. After that, wait for the hospital to accept your registration. All registrations must be mailed to Ozarks Healthcare by Friday, May 19th.
