The West Plains, Missouri, Walmart is trying to get going again after a fire happened on Christmas day. They were closed for four days due to the fire, but are opened up again.

The Fire

The fire happened on December 25, 2021, around 2:00 pm at the Walmart Supercenter. The West Plains Fire Department left the site around 4:45 pm. [1] No one was in the building while the fire was going. The fire started in the jewelry department. No foul play is suspected, but the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Closed Walmart

Walmart was already closed on Christmas Day. Because of the fire, Walmart stayed closed until Wednesday, December 29, 2021.

Reduced Shopping

While Walmart is open, a vast majority of the store is not accessible. You cannot get clothes, auto stuff, exercise items. The areas that are accessible right now is the groceries and home beauty aid’s. [2] White tarp is covering, from floor to ceiling, the area that had the fire. Employees are still working their normal job and are helping clean up the mess the fire created.
