Senator Blunt is not running for reelection [1]. This leaves one seat open for the U.S. Missouri senate seat. Senator Hawley is yet in office, holding our conservative views. To take Senator Blunt’s place, several citizens have filed their applications. The first day to file for this seat was February 22, 2022. Here is a synapse.

Who Is Running?

As of March 24, 2022, 18 Republicans have filed for the Senator seat. Among the more notable names are Eric Schmitt (our attorney general), Mark McCloskey (the St. Louis lawyer who tried to protect his home),  and Eric Greitens (former Governor). Thus far, 9 Democrats have filed for this position and one from the Constitution party.

Primaries

The Missouri Primary elections, in which we choose one person from a party to best represent us, is August 2, 2022. The winner of each party will run against each other in the general elections in November.

As U.S. citizens and residents of Missouri, it is our duty to cast our ballot for whom we think best represents us and who is best for this country. AltonMo.com will continue to keep you updated on election issues and how or what these candidates stand for.
