On April 15, 2021, College of the Ozarks filed a suit against the Biden administration, but more specifically against Housing and Urban Development (HUD). What did Housing and Urban Development do to get College of the Ozarks to file a suit? HUD is forcing “entities covered by the Fair Housing Act to not ‘discriminate’ based on sexual orientation or gender identity”. In other words, there is no place that only one sex can go to: no bathroom, shower, or bedroom. As College President Jerry C. Davis said, “While we are disappointed in today’s ruling, we expect to appeal so that schools are not forced to open women’s dorm rooms to males and violate their religious beliefs…”

Oh No!

Besides the suit against the Biden administration and HUD, they also motioned for an injunction and temporary restraining order, which would have provided temporary protection for the College while its federal court case is pending.  This motion was denied by a federal district court on May 20, 2021.

Don’t Worry

Although the motion was denied, College of the Ozarks will continue pursuing what is right.

We will not abandon our mission. The fight to protect our religious freedom has just begun.

said College President Jerry C. Davis. [1]
