Jefferson City, Mo. –TeenPact Leadership Schools came to Jefferson City for our TeenPact Missouri II class from March 28 to April 1, 2022. Lots of Christian teenagers from around the state came to learn more about the political process.

Four-Day Class

There were just under 100 students who came for the four-day class. Teenagers were able to present their bills during legislature, pass or fail bills in committee, ask questions to guest speakers. For the alumni, they debated about our right to vote. The first-timers went through different field experiences including judicial, legislature, lobbyist, and executive.

Governor Parson Speaks

The class had three guest speakers: Representative Doug Richey, Representative Jered Taylor, and Governor Mike Parson. Governor Parson even extended his time to answer more questions.

PCW

The Political Communications Workshop (PCW) was held on Friday, April 1st, and had sixty students sign up. The students were able to trade with other teams, participate in press conferences and grassroots campaigning. While a fire drill was going on, the TeenPacters did not slack and kept on learning while out on the grass. Every person spoke at the PCW, whether you were the candidate, campaign manager, communications coordinator, or grassroots.

8-12 Class

Younger siblings of the older students or 8-12 year olds enjoyed going to the one day class which was also on Friday. Everything that the four-day students learned was compressed for the younger kids to learn in one day. The one-day class also had sixty students sign up.

Three Classes Next Year!

At the graduation at the end of the four-day class, the state coordinator, Karen Heredia, announced that since both Missouri classes this year were full, in 2023, Missouri will have three state classes!

Alumni Events

For all the students who completed the four-day class, they are all alumni now. For the alumni students, there are multiple events throughout the course of summer to attend if you want. Some of the events include Judicial, Congress, Back To D.C., and Media. Also a big event, sometimes called the heart of TeenPact, is National Convention which takes place at the end of May.
