Senator Karla Eslinger Has Five Sponsored Bills Ready For Committees

March 1, 2021, was the last day State Senate bills could be filed for the 2021 session. Five bills sponsored by Senator Karla Eslinger of the 33rd Senatorial District, made the cut.

Senate Bill 581

Senate Bill 581 limits the time administrative judges can serve. It also changes to provisions for setting salaries, removal from office, and performance reviews.

Senate Bill 582

Another bill Senator Eslinger sponsored was Senate Bill 582. Senate Bill 582 is aimed at preserving employment opportunities at sheltered workshops. Sheltered workshops are places where disabled people can work.

Senate Bill 583

Senate Bill 583 allows school districts with seven board-members to divide into seven smaller sub-districts to elect board members or directors. The bill does not force you to divide into sub-districts but just gives you the option to do so.

Senate Bill 584

The fourth bill Senator Eslinger sponsored is Senate Bill 584 which removes the one-month supervision requirement for advanced practice registered nurses (APRN).

Senate Bill 585

Lastly, Senate Bill 585 was sponsored by Senator Eslinger. Senate Bill 585 changes the way funding is distributed for institutions of higher education. This bill allows schools that succeed in preparing students for the workforce will receive more funding.
