Chiefs To Hold A Virtual 5K Red Friday Kickoff Edition Run

Alton, Mo. –The Kansas City Chiefs are hosting a virtual 5K run on Red Friday for anyone who wants to participate. The Chiefs still want to hold a 5K race but because of the coronavirus, they decided to hold the race virtually. You can run or walk the 5K between Wednesday, September 9, 2020, to Sunday, September 13, 2020.

Who Can Run/How Long Is It

There is no age limit on running or walking this race. The race is 3.1 miles long or a 5K in racing terms.

Registration Details

There are two options to register. You can have the early-bird registration which is from now until August 31, or you have the pre-event registration which is from September 1 to September 13. Season-ticket members will pay an entrance fee of $25 and other fans who are not season-ticket members will pay an entrance fee of $30. If you register between September 1 and September 13, the season-ticket members will pay a fee of $35 and the general public will pay a fee of $40.

Where and When Can You Run

Whether you decide to run the race or walk it, you can participate on a treadmill, park, the sidewalk, in the woods, or anywhere else you can think of. Participants can run or walk the 5K anytime between September 9 and September 13.

Participant Packages

All participants will get a 2020 Red Friday flag, Red Friday Run t-shirt, a Red Friday running bib, and unique content via the RaceJoy App. [1]

When Will I Get The Items

Racers will receive the items mentioned above via USPS. Everyone that registered before August 24th should receive their packets by September 9th. Registrations after August 24th will receive their packets in 2 to 4 business days.

Share The Spirit

When the racers are done running or walking the 5K, they are encouraged to take a picture of themselves with their Chiefs/Red Friday gear and post it on social media using #RedFriday between September 9th and September 13th.
