Alton School Board Talks About Library, Graduation, And More At Meeting

Alton, Mo. – The Alton School Board met on October 14, 2021, at 6:30 pm, at the Alton High School Library. They talked about the library, high school graduation date, a fencing project, and other topics.

Library

The high school librarian accepts suggestions of books she should get for the library. Before the kids read it, she reads it and makes sure everything’s acceptable. The elementary is having a book fair this week. On Wednesday’s, kids can come during lunch break and have a book study. They are also teaming up with Burger Palace- if you read five books you get a free ice cream cone.

Graduation

The board also discussed the high school graduation date. It is set for Friday, May 6, 2022, at 7:00 pm.

Fencing Project

The school has a fencing project going on. The fence is for the parent pick-up place. It will be 370 feet long.

COVID-19

The school board talked about the COVID-19 regulations. They decided that if it is 5% (about 35 people) or less of the teachers and students are quarantined in a two week frame, they will drop the mask mandate. But if it rises over 5%, you will have to re-mask no matter what.
