On February 17, 2019, the First Baptist Church located in Mammoth Spring, AR celebrated their 125th year.  It turned out to be a memory lane inspired day.

Beginning

The celebration began at the 10:30 am service with a reading of the church history. Dr. Sonny Tucker, executive director of the Southern Baptist Convention in Arkansas, gave a video greeting. Congregational singing preceded the following sermon.

Food

What church gathering could be complete without food? A bountiful potluck fed everyone present. This was held in the newly dedicated fellowship hall. Immediately following the meal, the Howell Family Singers performed. The entire after church celebration was an afternoon event.

Questions

This was a free event open to the public. Anyone still interested in the church may contact them at 870-625-3273 or email msfbc@ms-fbc.org.

It was a blessed time for all who could attend or wanted to participate.

Future

This church has been growing. It’s aim is to reach the community for Christ by meeting needs and making Him known. Recently the men of the church meet early Monday mornings for prayer. The youth group plans projects to help the community before fun projects begin, thereby practicing being the hands and feet of Christ. The church as a whole also reaches out via the motorcycle ride, clothes giveaways, and back to school backpacks. This church welcomes people who want to use their God-given talents.
