TeenPact Missouri III class of 2023

Do you have a teenager who longs for leadership but just cannot get it right? How can they become the effective leader they are meant to be? Leadership grows when students move beyond theory and put skills into practice. That’s exactly what the Political Communications Workshop is designed to do. Teenpact is made for teens. It helps them practice and become the leaders they are to be. The Political Communications Workshop is an engaging one-day preview of the weeklong learning. Although the four-day Teenpact classes are recommended, this communication class stands on its own.

What Is Does

At this one-day experience, students ages 13–19 are challenged to think critically, engage respectfully, and communicate clearly. Through guided discussions and hands-on activities, students learn how to evaluate different perspectives, articulate their beliefs, and communicate with confidence—both verbally and in writing. They make friends and laugh throughout the day.

No homework is required, but a dress code applies.

When Is This?

Missouri has three classes. One is in March, and two are in April.

Who Can Attend?

This class is open to 13-19-year-olds. While primarily geared to Missourians, the class expanded nationwide when the pandemic hit, and Missouri relaxed its Capitol visitation policies. It was originally designed for homeschoolers. However, that, too, has morphed over time, allowing private and public school students to attend. A parent or guardian is expected to drop off and pick up the teen. The parent is welcome to stay and observe the class.

Where Is This?

This takes place in Jefferson City. As the class meets on Fridays, arrive on Thursday to visit the Capitol, the museum, the river, and other historical sites. The class offers discounted rates at select hotels. One can stay at any hotel, Airbnb, or campground of their choice.

Is There A Cost?

The class costs $60. However, early-bird discounts and scholarships are available.

For those who know their teen is intent on changing the world, the class is highly recommended. The underlying theme is ‘One person can make a difference.’
