Spring happens every year. Some people may think it’s the same ole thing. Daylight Savings Time gets more attention then the first day of spring. Don’t be like that; appreciate and enjoy springtime!

Know The Day

The first day of spring is on Sunday, March 20, 2022. The last day of spring is Monday, June 20, 2022.

Spring Is Here!

Don’t have the mindset of “Oh, great. Spring is here.” Think of spring as a new beginning- a new opportunity. The grass starts to get greener; the trees also get greener; flowers blossom; light, or heavy, rain falls; spring is a blessing from God. Have the curiosity and interest in spring as Mary and Colin did in The Secret Garden.

Things To Do

If you want to do something to welcome spring, here are some ideas. If you want more ideas, you can read this article.

Write A Poem

One thing you can do is write a poem. It can be a haiku, limerick, or a ballad. Have the theme in the poem be about spring.

Look Around You

Another thing you can do is go outside and look around at God’s creation. While there may not be a lot of green and flowers blooming, go out every day and see if you can spot something different.

Grow Something!

Even if you don’t have a “green thumb” grow some flowers or vegetable plants or lettuce. As the weather warms up, you can transplant it outside.

Balance An Egg

A traditional activity to do on the fall and spring equinox is to balance an egg. Before you start thinking it can’t be done- just try. You’ll be surprised and happy when the egg is balancing on its own.

Start to appreciate the springtime God created just for you!
