Fall is starting today. Now, we get to enjoy cooler temperatures, wear fall colors, and enjoy the wide range of colors on the leaves. Here are five things to do to welcome fall.

#1 Collect Leaves

One way to enjoy fall is by collecting leaves. It won’t be as fun if all the leaves are green, so you may have to wait a couple more weeks. When the leaves turn, pick a couple of leaves from different trees and press them so they’re flat. You can create a college with them, or you can create an information sheet saying where you found the leaf, from what tree, and so on.

#2 Hike

A nice way to see all the beautiful colors is by going on a hike. Whether you hike on your property, on a road, or down to the river, the walk will be worth it.

#3 Kayak

Another way to welcome autumn is by going on a trip down the river. You can do this in a canoe, kayak, or raft. Going down the river gives a variety of scenery of the beautiful Ozarks.

#4 Birdwatch

If you don’t feel like walking around, you can sit on your porch and look at the different birds flying into your yard. With the cooler weather, woodpecks, chickadees, and robins come in search of food and shelter. [1]

#5 Rake Leaves

A final activity you can do to welcome fall is to rake the leaves into piles. If you have a large yard with lots of trees, you can create huge leaf piles. After you’ve raked the leaves into piles, you can jump into it!
